Youth Works And Puppet Works Presents THE EXCITING ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO, 3/9-25

Youth Works theater troupe presents The Adventures of Pinocchio and The Further Adventures of Pinocchio Puppet Show. Both are written by local playwright C. L. Johnson. The Adventures of Pinocchio is the classic story retold with the original Italian zest about learning and choosing between right and wrong! While The Further Adventures of Pinocchio follows Pinocchio as he battles for his freedom from the Puppet Maestro. Both performances take place in the Italian village of Collodi (an homage to the original Author of Pinocchio Carlo Collodi). The Adventures of Pinocchio perform March 9 - 25 and The Further Adventures of Pinocchio perform on Saturdays, March 10 - 31 in the McMillin Theater.

Directed by Jason Washburn and Musical Director, Susan Washburn The Adventures of Pinocchio will touch your heart as you watch Pinocchio on his journey to become a real boy. Pinocchio is like any other mischievous boy, only he has been carved out of wood! In order to become a real boy, Pinocchio must prove he is worthy. Unfortunately he is tempted by fame, wealth and endless play at every turn. With the guidance of his father Geppetto and a different kind of conscience - the fledgling fairy Celeste - Pinocchio manages to escape his misadventures, finally making his dreams come true.

The Further Adventures of Pinocchio Puppet Show continues the fun. On his way to The Land of Play, Pinocchio runs into his old friends - Harlequin, Punch and Judy. But the Puppet Maestro is still determined to have Pinocchio in his puppet teatro and he will do anything to make sure he does! Can Pinocchio trust the beautiful Babette, or will he end up one of the Puppet Maestro's play things? This puppet production will use marionette puppets in the true style of Pinocchio.

Tickets are now on sale both online at www.theaterworks.org and at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. The Box Office is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily and may be reached at 623-815-7930. The Adventures of Pinocchio runs March 9th - 25th. Performances are Thursday - Saturday 7:00 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday 1:30 p.m. Single tickets are only $16.00 / adult and $12.00 / student plus fees. The Further Adventures of Pinocchio Puppet Show perform Saturdays March 10th - 31st at 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Tickets for the puppet performance are $5 / person plus fees.
